Susan Joy Warren has always been a student and admirer of great style, having grown up in a family of stylish, creative women. “I grew up sketching outfits, going to fabric stores, and designing unique items like neon green fringed, purple velvet bell bottoms in 7th grade!"
Susan dreamed of being a fashion editor, but realizing she couldn't pay her bills on the anemic salary, she opted for the sales side of publishing.
Living in NYC and LA, working for fashion and travel magazines, although lucrative, didn't satisfy the itch to be more hands-on in design. She took courses at Otis Parsons School of Design, UCLA Interior Design, and even designed a limited run outerwear line.
“Over the past decade, I have watched fashion magazines disappear, retailers target younger consumers, and the 20-something Insta influencers become the new arbiters of style.”
Acknowledging that fashion media and brands largely ignore women over 45 and that there is a lack of guidance and resources for women in this segment, I thought:

Maybe instead of editing magazines,

I might be of service editing women’s wardrobes.”

Thus the WARDROBE WHISPER was born.
